A Guide to Using the Doctor Portal

Creating a New Referral

  1. Once you have logged in, you will be brought to the Client List page. At the top of the page, you will notice empty fields under a title that says “Create”. This information is the information of the patient you wish to refer. The only required information is the name, though all of the rest will facilitate communication between providers and patient in the process.

  2. Next, you will click “Create and Refer”, “Create and Administer”, or “Create”.

    • “Create and Refer” will create the client record and bring you to the referral page.

    • “Create and Administer” will create the client record and bring you to administer our Brief Emotional/Behavioral Assessment screen.

    • “Create” will create the client record and add it to your list of past referrals in the list below. From this list, you may choose to view the Patient Chart, open the referral page, or administer the Behavioral health screen.

  3. Verify that the Referring Physician Info is correct. Enter the Client Info that may be currently empty (Phone, Email, Insurance, etcetera.). You may select a pre-selected provider by clicking on the dropdown menu labled “Refer to Therapist” and searching the therapist’s name. Otherwise, you may leave it as “We choose for you” and our referral department will find a suitable provider. Then, attach any related documents (Client’s Clinical Information). Check mark the indications for treatment and services requested. Type the referring physician’s name, check the box that says “I agree”, then click “Send Referral”.

Encrypted Messaging

  1. Once you have logged in, click on the “Messaging” tab in the top menu bar.

  2. Next click “Compose”, and address the message.

    Compose a Message

  3. Address the message, type the message, and click “Send”.

    Compose Message

The recipient will receive an email notifying them that they have a message in Therapractic (not the actual content from the message). They can view the message after they have logged in.

“Send notice by email with access token” – Sends the recipient an email notifying them that they have a message in Therapractic and also gives them a one time access to the message on Therapractic without logging in.

Viewing the Status of a Client

  1. Once you have logged in, you will see your client list. You may search the client’s name, or find them on the list, then click “Patient Chart”.

  2. On the Patient Chart, you will find the basic client information; the communication log, detailing information about communication between client and our staff; the patient documents, which include any assessments that have been completed, screens, and the referral you sent over; and the list of those who have access to the Patient Chart.

  3. You may learn more about the details of the patient chart here.
