Severe Depression

You have reported depressive symptoms as being severe, about average or above for those being seen in treatment settings. Depression is probably affecting your sense of well-being, and putting a dent in your relationships, work/school or health.

An estimated 16.2 million adults in the United States have had at least one major bout of depression. This number represented 6.7% of all U.S. adults. The prevalence of major depressive episode was higher among adult females (8.5%) compared to males (4.8%).

A treatment plan has been proposed at the end of this report for you and your Dr. to review, making changes to fit you and your situation. You have noted a moderate number of depression symptoms. If you may have under-reported depression for whatever reason, it’s possible to take this questionnaire again and review the findings privately, sharing them with a health care professional when appropriate.
